I’m very happy with the colored PPF from tesbros and would 100% recommend their DIY kit.
I was not too hard to install. Much easier with two people. The precut pieces could use a little more material for the wheel well area and the edges. The hardest part is the edges.
I called a local shop for a quote and was told $6500 plus tax, so I figured, for around $900 with a black friday deal I would try it myself - and very glad that I did.
As long as you have reasonable dexterity / ability to do some DIY, this will work out well. I agree with some of the other reviews though, the guy in the video is a pro and makes it looks easy. This is a measure twice / cut once type of situation - take your time.
My first piece of advice is watch the videos several times and watch Ji’s technique. Even the way he holds the squeegee, the angle he swipes at makes a difference.
Second piece of advise - use the tape. Do not rely on the magnets. Start with the magnets and then secure everything with frogtape before proceeding. Make sure you are 100% happy with every side before starting. If you are slightly off, mistakes by the end will compound and be exponentially worse. Like some of the other reviews - I screwed up several times and had to restart.
Fortunately TESBROS will stand by you even if you screw it up. Like some of the other reviewers, I started out a bit too confident and damaged (more than one) piece and they sent me a replacement for just the cost of shipping and even offered to coach me live with one of their experts (which was appreciated though not needed, after I learned from my mistakes).
Overall, the job looks good. Unless you are looking for mistakes up close, you cant see any. The entire surface is 100% smooth, though there are maybe 3 to…
This was 100% amazing! You guys are super with communication and I appreciate how you helped me out when I ruined one of the pieces. My CyberTruck looks amazing now and everyone keeps asking how I changed it to black!!! I would highly recommend TESBROS to EVERYBODY!!
It's much harder than the video makes it look. I may have missed it, but there should be a "how to fix mistakes" video. Also, there should be a temp warning. I did mine in Texas while it's 100°+ outside. I didn't realize it would stretch right off the bat. It also stuck to the truck immediately. There was no moving it like in the video. A simple "you should do this when it's cold" would have been nice!
