Taking delivery of your brand-new Tesla Model Y Juniper? Make sure you inspect every detail before driving off! We’ve created an easy-to-follow Tesla Model Y Delivery Checklist so you can check off key inspection points and ensure your new car is in perfect condition.

Why You Need a Delivery Checklist

Our Tesla delivery checklist has been a fan favorite, helping thousands of new owners make sure they’re getting a flawless vehicle. While Tesla’s quality has significantly improved, minor issues can still pop up. Identifying them before leaving the delivery center ensures Tesla logs them for future resolution.

Here are a few notable things to look out for. Check out the PDF checklist above for a more comprehensive list.

Key Areas to Inspect

1. Verify Your Vehicle Details

Check Your VIN – Ensure it matches the one assigned to you.
Confirm Color & Interior – Double-check your paint and interior choice.
Included Accessories – Depending on your trim, confirm you received:

  • Mobile Connector
  • J1772 Charging Adapter
  • Carpet floor mats

2. Exterior Inspection

Paint & Wheels – Look for scratches, dents, or imperfections. Use your fingernail to check if scratches are deep.
Panel Gaps – Tesla has improved, but it’s still good to check for uneven gaps.
Glass Roof & Windows – Inspect for any chips or cracks.
Wheels & Tires – Check for curb rash or transit damage.

3. Interior & Electronics Check

Key Cards & Phone Connectivity – Ensure both key cards work and your phone app functions correctly.
Touchscreen & Cameras – Test the infotainment screen, rear screen (if applicable), and cameras.
Seats & Interior Surfaces – Look for scuffs, dirt, or material imperfections.
Charging & Ports – Test USB-C ports, wireless chargers, and the 12V power outlet.
AC, Heated/Ventilated Seats – Ensure air conditioning, heated/cooled seats, and all climate controls work properly.
Audio & Voice Controls – Play music to check for speaker distortion.

4. Final Functional Checks

Lights & Mirrors – Test headlights, taillights, turn signals, and side mirrors.
Windshield Wipers & Sprayers – Activate to confirm smooth operation.
Frunk & Trunk Operation – Ensure proper alignment and smooth opening/closing.
Charging & Software Update – Plug into a Supercharger to verify charging. Ask Tesla to ensure your vehicle has the latest software installed.

Tesla has made huge improvements in quality, but it’s always smart to double-check your vehicle at delivery. If you find any issues, have Tesla document them before you leave so they can be fixed later. You can also report issues within 3 days of delivery if you miss something.
