Do I have to disassemble parts of the car to apply the wrap?

No, not at all. The wrap kit allows you to apply a professionally looking wrap without disassembly.

Can I go through an automatic car wash?

It’s recommended to only hand wash your Tesla. Due to automatic carwashes being brushless, they tend to use heavy chemicals to break things down which can be harmful to the vinyl.

I overstretched the vinyl. What can I do?

Unless you REALLY overstretched it, you can get it back to normal stretch. Vinyl is memory-based so if you just heat it, it will revert back to its original state. Use a heat gun or hairdryer and keep your heat moving in the area. You’ll see it shrink back. If you don’t see that it is shrinking back, you may have added too much heat and will have to use your extra piece.

How do I use a heat gun when applying vinyl?

You can use a heat gun or a hairdryer but you want to use a heat gun whenever you need to stretch or conform around awkward areas. When using heat, don’t stay in one area. Keep your gun moving and roughly 6 inches away.

Does it come with everything I need to install?

The kit comes with everything you need, except a heating source. We recommend using a heat gun or even a hairdryer if needed.

Will it damage my paint?

Vinyl will not damage your paint. It actually adds a level of protection between the outside elements and your Teslas surface.

Can I install vinyl on a leased car?

Yes, vinyl is a great and safe way to customize your Tesla while leased. Once you have to return it, vinyl is safe to remove and won’t damage any surfaces!

Do I need any experience?

Our DIY kits are designed with beginners in mind. You do not need prior knowledge to install these kits, however, we do recommend studying our videos and familiarizing yourself with vinyl to get the most out of your kit!

What color matches the OEM trims on Teslas?

Satin Black is an exact match.

Exceeded my expectations in quality and ease of installation

Took approximately 8 hours to install but I’m very meticulous and was applying in low light conditions. Completely transforms the look of the car and is made of very durable material.

This is a terrific package for deleting the Model X Chrome. 3M material is quality and you won’t be sorry for using this kit. It eliminates all chrome on the X

Model X complete chrome delete

the product was easy to use and perfect for a diy project. Some pieces were not cut exactly the way it was needed but minor patchwork made it easy to compensate with extra material.

overall very impressive. You really need to include part numbers & locations for pieces...of some sort. Also, the side mirrors; do they need to be removed & what is the best order for installing, not only mirror pieces, but the other areas that have mulitple pieces being applied. You do that...the Kits a 5++++

Great and affordable way to chrome delete your Tesla

This is by far the best option if you want to black out your chrome! Really great product and fairly straightforward install. I rarely leave reviews but wanted to for this product because I highly recommend! It really makes a dramatic difference in the look of your Tesla! I decided to go with TesBros after getting quotes between $600-$1k+ to have a local shop do it for me. A few thoughts: THE PRODUCT: Hard to beat 3M 2080 vinyl. It was easy to work with and should hold up great over time. I went with the gloss black for my 2018 White Model X. Love the look and really happy I went with this finish. Especially since the 2021.5 Model S and X are coming from the factory with gloss black trim (rather than satin black for the model 3 and y). INSTALL: There is definitely a learning curve to this. It wasn't easy if you've never worked with vinyl, like me. Watching the videos are a must and I had my laptop next to me watching the install instructions as I went. I started with the window trim which is probably the easiest and finished with the mirrors which is the most difficult. I'm really particular about my cars so the total install time took me around 8 hours since it was my first time and I wanted to get it just right. I did it in small chunks of time over a few days so it never felt crazy long. If I were to do it again I'm guessing I could do it in 4-5 hours now that I'm more comfortable. I also need a razor to trim a few corners where there was just a bit more vinyl than could be tucked away with a heat gun. The pieces are cut to fit but it's inevitable that you'll stretch a few pieces a hair too much and have excess that needs to be trimmed. I only trimmed 2-3 pieces total so not much but something to be aware of. IMPROVEMENT AREAS: Mirror Kit- The 9-10 pieces come on on one big sheet of backing paper and aren't clearly labeled which one is D1, D2, D3, etc. I had to cut out each individual piece (with the backing paper) to make it easier to line up and install. It also doesn't come in multiple peel off pieces (like in the video) so that makes the install more difficult. If there's more cost involved to provide the product precut with multiple peel off pieces, I would've happily paid a little more for the convenience. Remaining Trim pieces (front/rear bumper, door handles, sides cameras)- Same as the mirror kit. It all comes on one big sheet of paper and they're not clearly labeled what is what. This could be improved and labeled better. Install Videos- There could be more detail in how to install the more difficult pieces. For example, the rear corner of the window trim vinyl shouldn't be tucked into the rubber weather strip because it's only possible for half the trim (where the passenger and front doors can be fully installed into the weather strip). Also the mirrors have little tricks that we could be aware of like exactly where to anchor the pieces so there aren't any gaps in coverage. A video highlighting common mistakes or pitfalls to watch out for could be helpful. Overall, super happy with the product and highly recommend to anyone who isn't afraid of a little DIY work. It's definitely worth it and will make your Tesla look so much better.
