Remove Fender Cameras
Before removing your cameras, it's best to put your Tesla in Service Mode. This lets the car know it's being worked on. Once you plug the camera back up, it'll recognize it right away in this mode.
Steps to Enter Service Mode
- Tap the car icon on the bottom left to open the main Controls menu.
- Tap Software from the left-side menu.
- Tap and hold the “Model [number/name]” text at the top (the vehicle name/graphic area).
- After a few seconds, a password prompt will appear.
- Enter the password: service
- Tap OK.
You’ll now be in Service Mode, which provides access to various diagnostics and hardware/software info that regular users don’t normally see.
Notes:
- Use with caution: Service Mode is intended for technicians. Be careful not to change anything unless you know what it does.
- You can't drive the car far or fast in Service Mode – it's meant for diagnostics.
- To exit Service Mode, tap Exit in the top-right corner or reboot the screen.
